Former UFC two-weight champion, Daniel Cormier, has given his take on the potential massive fight between the promotion’s two hottest stars in Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones.
The UFC stars have been linked on a collision course since their ugly beef started last April.
Looking to capitalize on this feud, UFC president Dana White admitted that booking the pair in a future bout can be a huge financial success for the company.
On Saturday night, Jones added fuel to the fire after the Kiwi-Nigerian fighter delivered a sensational knockout of Robert Whittaker in the headlining bout of UFC 243.
After winning the undisputed title, Jones told Adesanya, “By the time this kid gets his confidence together I’ll probably already be in the heavyweight division. I don’t need to wait till 2021 to start believing in myself.”
Amid talks about a future Adesanya vs Jones clash, Cormier shared his thoughts on the middleweight champion’s chances against the all-time great.

In the post-fight wrap-up hosted by ESPN, DC praised Adesanya for stunning more than 57 000 fans at the Marvel Stadium last weekend.
“He is fantastic.”
“He does everything right in order to draw people in. He’s the guy that makes people get together.”
Scoring the biggest win of his UFC career, Cormier said Adesanya’s overall performance was nothing but perfection.
“Like, ‘Hey, come to my house. Israel Adesanya is fighting tonight.’ He’s that type of guy and when you’re that type of guy, you have that quality about you to bring people together and everybody takes notice.”
“Tonight, only helped that. The performance against Robert Whittaker was out of this world.”
“From the entrance to the fight, to the exit, Israel just did everything right.”

As for Adesanya locking horns with Jones in a future fight, Cormier sees ‘The Last Stylebender’ at a disadvantage in terms of size.
“He’s just small.”
“He’s just small for Jones. Jones is a big guy and I think people underestimate how big he is.”
“When he grabs you, because he’s so big up top, right — they make fun of how small his legs are — but he’s 225lbs [and] a lot of the weight is up top.”
But talking about the fighters’ stand up game, DC believes Adesanya could be a huge problem for Jones.
“He’s so long that he almost hangs on you. It’s like a towel when you’re in the clinch and I think Izzy may struggle with that because Jones is so big.”
“I would not mind watching them fight because if Jones has to stand with this guy, he’s in trouble.”
“Jones is very hittable but Izzy needs to get a lot bigger if he’s gonna fight this guy.”
