If it is not about glory, Ali Abdelaziz believes that the move is about making money.
In a video of him speaking to TMZ Sports, Khabib’s manager minced no world in expressing his thoughts about the looming match between his talent and McGregor.
“Conor’s running out of money. This is why he agreed to fight Khabib.”
Abdelaziz exclaimed that the motive behind this potential clash is simply about cash.
But Khabib’s manager felt it was okay and that they are ready to support McGregor on his plan.
“It’s okay. We’re gonna contribute of him making some money,” he stated.
But that does not mean that they will take McGregor lightly. Abdelaziz fired a stern warning about what is gonna happen in the highly-anticipated match up.
“At the end of the day we owe him an ass whooping. He needs to get his ass whooped from Khabib.”
While McGregor thinks he is a gangster, the MMA manager believes he deserves the treatment for thinking like he is an actual one.
“He thinks he’s a gangster. I don’t think he is. But, when you think you’re a gangster, you’re going to get treated like a gangster. And gangster, they end in jail or get beat up.”
Khabib himself revealed last Monday that UFC is already setting the stage for McGregor’s comeback this year. The organization is currently in the works in making their fight possible.
But nothing has been cast in stone yet.
The UFC has to wait for the result of the case filed against the Irish fighter. McGregor was sued for assault after instigating a backstage melee last April. The decision of the court is expected to be released in August.
Meanwhile, McGregor’s mentor John Kavanagh sees that the matchup between the two lightweight champions will push through by year-end.
“I would almost bet anything that fight happens before the end of the year. Ican’t imagine it not happening,” he said.
